Curated Live Experiences

Ishq Ke Saat Muqaam

Not That Kind of Love

Small World Centre, Toronto

April 2024

In collaboration with Tawoos Initiative and Virasat, I curated Not That Kind of Love, using Faiz Ahmed Faiz's poem "Mujse Pehli Si Mohabbat" as a thread to explore a range of emotions. With a live storyteller, visuals, and my performance with a 4-piece band, we invited the audience to introspect on the nature of the world and the transformative power of love.

Spadina Museum, Toronto

August 2024

I composed and performed live music for Offerings at Ishpadinaa, a site activation project at Spadina Museum co-curated by Nova Dance. I curated and performed Sounds of Stories for the Abhivyakti The City Arts project, where poet Tejas Jani wrote original poems in Hindi and Gujarati. I composed and performed live music, blending pre-recorded poems and stories with a 4-piece band to create an immersive narrative experience.

TD Music Hall

May 2025

I led a 6-piece band and served as music director for Ishq Ke Saat Muqaam, a theatrical production written and directed by Nishar Mansuri. The show explored the seven stages of love through poetry and music, rooted in Sufi and South Asian traditions. I curated and arranged the musical repertoire, guiding the ensemble to interpret and perform pieces that captured the emotional and spiritual essence of each stage.

Sounds of Stories

Toronto Music Garden

July 2025

In July 2025, I presented my original show, Sounds of Storie,s as part of Harbourfront Centre’s Summer in the Music Garden series. The performance featured a trio of musicians improvising live music around pre-recorded spoken word poetry in multiple languages. Blending jazz, Indian classical music, and cinematic textures, the trio responded to each poem in real time, creating an immersive and emotionally rich storytelling experience through sound.
